I hope that Thousand Words is ok. So scary when they do things like that.

Shortly after the race it was announced that he was not adversely affected by the fall and was perfectly OK.

The assistant trainer whom he fell on, however, had a fractured wrist.

Thank you for that
I have a tendency to always be more concerned over the animals

In hindsight, the folks who paid something like $206 per share for an interest in Authentic may have made a decent investment after all; in addition to having bragging rights to "owning a Derby winner"

I wonder if that will encourage more opportunities for a micro investment in racehorses?

“...Yes, DRF saying he will likely start in the Preakness. I thought during the broadcast they said he hit his head, but DRF says he fell on his side which I guess could be bad too for a thousand pound plus animal, but those head blows are the ones that sometimes kill them so I'm glad to hear he is alright.
========================================

Actually it was Bob Baffert who hit his head but unlikely to affect him!

I wonder whether the folks that make the micro investment actually receive some money, if the horse wins or whether that is eaten up by training and maintenance fees so that the benefits of winning are more "bragging rights."
