Add Flavien Prat to the list of jockeys who rode last weekend at Los Al and have now tested positive for Covid. Prat rode at Del Mar on Friday and at Keeneland yesterday. I assume he flies private, but still.

Saratoga should require all jockeys to get tested before the meet starts on Thursday. Saez and Prat have been all over.

That’s good to hear. The big worry on Twitter a couple days ago was that horse racing was going to get shut down. Hopefully the precautions prevent that from happening.

There is something that has not made sense to me through this entire jockey COVID outbreak. We are watching baseball, basketball, and hockey attempt to restart and they are doing much of their work in so-called "bubbles", effectively trying to create spheres of group isolation.

It is somewhat shocking that not only state agencies have not mandated a "one track per jockey" policy, but the jockeys themselves have not asked for such a mandate. Let me give you a concrete example. If you have a jockey at Belmont who has been working hard to scrape together mounts in the afternoon, should that individual be exposed in this time to the traveling jockey colony going up and down the coast and across country?

For example, did John Velazquez really need to ride at Keeneland yesterday with Saratoga right around the corner? The "essential worker" concept is being stretched with these interstate travellers not being required to sit a 14-day quarantine period.
