![]() A really good example of what I’m talking about is Landeros’ ride on Ry’s the Guy in the 9th today. He got beat to every spot he tried to take throughout the race because he’s so passive and lets everyone else dictate to him where they are going. The winner was able to come through on the rail because after Landeros deferred position for the 4th time in the opening 1/2 mile instead of securing the rail, Saez took it from him.
Then he gets in traffic because while everyone else was moving he was sitting there confused. He’s really bad. |

![]() Having said all of that, he has a really good chance of winning the last. If he’s smart, he’d establish position early. The horse has enough early speed to be on the front end if he wants. But he shouldn’t be farther back than 3rd or 4th.
