Well, I had a great day at the track with some live money today actually!
Couldn't decide before race 2 whether or not to play a $36 or a $48 pick-4 to target the carryover, and decided to go with the latter. It paid off because that extra horse was Sandestin, the winner of the 2nd. Went 4x2x3x2 in that sequence and cashed out a nice $1 pick-4 payoff of $379.90! Turned right around and played an $18 pick-3 going 6x3x1 and singling Pin a Rose On Me in the last leg. Caught a nearly 8-1 and a nearly 7-1 winner in the first two legs and let the single do the legwork in the last. She opened up well at the 1/8 pole but nearly got worn down in the last 20 yards, conceding about an entire length in a matter of just a few jumps to a horse that looked beat, but held on to win by a short head to close out a bit overblown $279.20 pick-3 for a buck. Invested some of that into a $48 super in the final race. Had 7 horses on the P/W ticket in varying spots, and watched 6 of them run home 1st through 6th....sadly with Dancing Logo on top (to the tune of $1301.50), who I only had in the 2-3-4 spots, killing that ticket with a few longshots I had included rouding out the 2-3 spots. Can't complain about missing the late super, had a great day -- turned $100 into over $600 with little more than a few reasonably priced multi-race wagers. Free sheets to thank for a few of those winners that kept tickets alive! |

well, any excuse to not head to northville downs is a good excuse in my book ![]() i'll probably just go out infrequently for fairgrounds, but i don't tend to wager a lot on non-chicago tracks anyway. good news is that i financed my trip to florida for the Gulfstream Sunshine Millions Derby Trail get-together! ![]() |
