I actually think Independence Hall is a great bet-against. He may well be the most talented horse in the field, but this is a big step up in competition and he has immaturity issues that he doesn't seem to have sorted out yet. He's gotten away with it so far, but I think Sole Volante, Premier Star and Ajaaweed are loads better than anything he's faced so far and if he doesn't have his act together this time, he'll lose.

Those horses are likely better than what he’s faced so far. That said, I still think he wins even if he exhibits behavioral/immaturity issues. Just my opinion but I believe he is a very special horse. There is no chance I will bet against him, though perhaps I won’t bet the race.

Good call. I ended up keying Independence Hall in a super on top with Sole Volante and Ajaaweed for place and show and the ALL. But Sole Volante better than I gave him credit for and the pace a little hotter than I expected.
