On a side note, nothing to do with horse racing. When I went out on my deck this morning. The distinct smell of marijuana was wafting on the air. Arkansas passed the medical marijuana law a while back and the first dispensary opened last weekend and the first two dispensaries opened in Hot Springs. One of them is about two miles down the road from my house in a place that used to be a barbecue restaurant on one side and what might be described as a beer joint on the other. I used to go down and get barbecue at the restaurant, but avoided the beer joint. It was the type of place that one would dare not go without a fully loaded Glock and even then you were taking your chances without a Marine escort.
All this to say, I wonder whether some of my neighbors suddenly became "disabled." I guess that might explain the marijuana smell, but now that I think about it, I think I smelled that odor even before things got to be legal.
