The MTO's still haven't been scratched out of the final race, and time's getting away. Hoping the finale stays on the turf; if not, tear up my ticket.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I noticed that and wondered what that was about  The other races are still on turf so I don’t see any reason why that wouldn’t be but thought it was strange not seeing the MTO on the scratch list  Could it be a technical error on Equibase Or a human error in somebody’s mind  I just put a call into Equibase to find out what’s going on with the last race and the scratches She’s going to find out and call me back

I suspect the answer is simple - the trainers haven't scratched from the finale because they don't have to yet. They are hedging their bets in case some heavy rains appear and the final race really does get taken off, even though no one thinks that will happen. Many tracks don't require that all scratches be in before first post, only a certain number of hours before the race in question gets run. (Bettors don't have to place their bets the way we have to make our picks
).
