As you will recall, there was a side contest not on the races but on the handicappers themselves, and we can now announce the results. Don Guido was largely overlooked in the wagering, especially for a previous Gallivan champion, and went off at a very generous price of $16 return for every Dollar wagered. Remember in this wagering emporium there was no takeout and, as it turned out, no breakage. $800 went through the cyberwindow and $800 of fauxdollars gets paid out to those who selected Don. Only 2 of us did so Don Guido had the good judgment to wager $10 on himself and gets second place with a payout of $160. JolyB, apparently an astute totewatcher, saw that Don Guido was going to be a significant overlay and placed $40 of his cyberbankroll on the winner. He received a very generous return of $640 and is the winner of this annual fun contest. I only wish that I had been able to make this wager in real money - it would have made my BC weekend much more profitable. Thank you all for playing. |
