Default ROI Results 10/27 @ Santa Anita

Well the results at Santa Anita were better than last week's contest and I remembered to score it.
One player showed a profit but it could have been none. I don't know. I guess we could blame it
on pre Breeders Cup jitters or Halloween but 5 players challenged me with their ROI posts. Cal
hit a trifecta in race 10 but it was a little short of being a profitable day. Ruffian originally noted
the wrong race. Both Plenilune and Roamin played race 11 a non contest race and NJ Stinks
hit the daily double in races 10 and 11 but again race 11 was a non contest race. Only one player
showed a profit and that was Cruzan who hit the 7 horse in race 7 and that's how I scored it even
though he may have wanted the 7 in race 4. From now on I will delete horse names in scoring
the race and just go by numbers which we always stressed was the rule. I would suggest that
whover posts the ROI thread notes that we are not doing the entire card. Some players might
not play both points and ROI and could have missed the omission of race 11. It didn't cost
anybody a profit but it could have. So anyhoo here are the unofficial results pending a warrant
being issued on the scorer. See you all next week at the Breeders Cup for our 2018 finale.

ROI Update

As we head into the Breeders Cup and the official end of our season (2019 usually starts up 2 weeks after the Cup) there are two players on the positive side of the 49 weeks we have played so far. Yours truly, Real Quiet has an ROI of +7% and a profit of $358. This guarantee's a profit for 2018 and a 2 year run of profits. Cruzan is right behind me with an ROI of .33% and Cruz is ahead $16 on the year. Cruzan is aiming for a second straight year of profitability after winning the ROI last year. With big profits to be made on the Breeders Cup a few players have a decent shot led by El Prado (-$512) Ruffian (-$691), Cal (-$748) and Banter (-$922). All others are down over $1000 but you never know. Big hits happen every year. Roamin led the way this year with a $1027 profitable day on July 14th. For the year so far Plenilune and Real Quiet have 8 wins with Cruzan adding 6. Ruffian and Joly each have 5 wins. Myself, Ruffian and Joly showed up every week this year with Cruzan missing only one. Unfortunately we as a group got goose egged 5 times and lost $12588 but thankfully the dollars are virtual. As an added note Congrats to Plenilune who won the ROI in the 2017 Breeders Cup. Once again I hope to see you all in our Breeders Cup Contest as I will try to repeat my 2017 Gallivan Cup win.

Man o man, first day back and my winning pick gets DQ'ed. Of course, my other pick that lost was 100% kosher!

Oh well, Real Quiet. As your second post in this thread clearly suggests, 2018 has not been banner year for yours truly.

(Don't get me wrong, RQ. Both of your posts are well written and most certainly enjoyable reads. )
