I seem to keep doing this in our ROI contests. Once again, I managed to hit a multi race wager, this time a pick 3, but by trying to hedge my bet just a little and cover some other possible combinations, I lost money in the bargain.

I was pretty sure that the first three races would be formful, and put $28 on a single-single-single pick 3 of the three most likely winners on the card. They all won; unfortunately the pick 3 only paid $2.80 per $1; it would have taken a wager of at least $36 on that combination just to break even.

Well, that's why we play the ROI; to get experience in making wagers with cyberdollars before we have to put our real $ on the line.

Sometimes you can do it right and it still comes out wrong
