Default Tiple

Anybody have any insight into this horse on Sat at BEL ? Looks like West Point bought it from Ireland and the PP's and times are vague at best, but it seems to have run ok. Don't like the rail post and it looks like the Rudy horse will be tough but do have some interest in the #9 Isabelle's Joy for Phil Gleaves. This is a Kitten's Joy that got rained off the turf at SAR. Just not sure this is long enough.

The 4th place horse in Tiple's debut, Hermosa (a full sister to multiple Group 1 winner Hydrangea) came out of there to break her maiden next out and in the past 3 weeks has been Group 1-placed and won a Group 3 by open lengths. Tiple was a neck behind her in 5th.

Tiple's second start has been less productive. None of the horses that finished behind the winner have broken their maidens subsequently. The winner got drowned in a Group stakes.

Hmm. Thanks a bunch Rollo. I tried to get videos and couldn't. Maybe this one maybe better longer. However, WP buying this one says something.

One to watch. Watch may be the key word. But it is interesting.

We'll keep our eyes on this one. Thanks.

Go to the website: www.attheraces.com

It's a European race site. You have to register (for free), but you can use the search box to look up the form of horses. Most of the time there are replays with the option of seeing the full race or just the stretch run.

Tiple's races are there.

The horse comes from a Sangster/Coolmore connection, so WP is not plucking her from obscurity.

Her sire was a 5-furlong specialist, but the bottom side is solid at a mile or more. Her half sister Good Mood had modest success in the US.

The second dam is also the granddam of the ill-fated Grade 1 mare Nashoba's Key.

The 3rd dam produced the great turf mare, Kostroma, who I think still owns the world record for 9 furlongs on turf (1:43+) and was also a Grade 1 producer.

Thanks much Rollo. That horse finished a good 2nd but the time was 1:15. However, it looked like they were going uphill. I'm kind of intrigued by this horse. She split rivals and came through gamely. Didn't get to the winner, but was very game.

This one looks like a tryer for sure. Well we'll see. Just not sure how she stacks up over here.

Also she has won more purse money than all but 2. That is hard to do in Ireland.

Arrgh. I like the horse but don't know where she fits in this. I know she is going to run, but not sure if she can be in any mix.

Well, I'll just trust CC and Joel.

Without casting aspersions, what exactly does West Point buying the horse say? Do they have a great track record of sourcing ready made International horses that's being kept from the public? They aren't Team Valor or Martin Schwartz.

Good point Steve. Not sure I've seen them do this before. That is part of why it got my interest. Only a $5000 sire and still a maiden. Unusual. I'm going to watch this race and actually bet against with the #9.

Looked ok for 4F. Kinda sawed off a bit, but don't think it was going anywhere.
