isn't there 24 combinations with the 3/4/6/7/ x$5=$120?
I am wrong with this post, sorry Cal828
Don't know where my brain was, tri box is 24 combo.

No problem. Seems like it should be $24 since a 4 horse tri box is $24 for a dollar. I just went by a wagering chart I printed off from xpressbet.

I think that Cal is correct in his original calculation. While a $1 trifecta box with 4 horses has 24 combinations, my math tells me that a $1 exacta box with 4 horses has only 12 combinations.

Cal's wager breaks down to the following:
3 with 4,6 and 7 (3 combinations)
4 with 3,6 and 7 (3 more combinations)
6 with 3,4 and 7 (3 more combinations)
7 with 3,4 and 6 (3 final combinations for a total of 12)

In this instance, I would say that Cal's wagering chart is accurate.

I concur with Joly and my electronic wagering calculator does too.

Don't feel badly, Roamin. I just looked at my wager again and realized that I only wagered $72, not the $96 that I had assumed. Should have made my wager $16, and only made it $12. That's what happens when I try to do too many things all at once. Multi-tasking is highly overrated.

Sorry to make it more difficult for you, RQ.
