I will be at Ascot tomorrow. Very excited for my first international race event.

I'm ecstatic for the Gunthers. This is truly been the most incredible run. https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-rac...-jamess-palace

Royal Ascot is cool. Ordinary good graded stakes horses from the states shipping to run there is absurd. I get shipping to Dubai, the purses are enormous but to ship across an ocean to be swallowed by it for less money than available in States is just obnoxious IMO

It's not about the money; it's about the challenge and possible prestige, and with the recent US success it's brightened the dream even more.

Besides Wesley Ward, who has displayed a true genius over there, the failures have FAR outweighed the successes.

Tepin was unique, I get it. The Ward babies are forward, and to his credit, he identified an opportunity and succeeded. Dreams are great, we all hope, then reality sets in, or at least it is supposed to

I understand what you mean. It’s like the lure of Saratoga to the small track American owners/trainers. Of course the goal should always be to place your horses in the most logical positions to give them a shot but sometimes, you just want to do something for the experience.

I would much rather win races here then run good 4th and 5th over there. To each his own though. For me it's not even close. Yoshida going there makes 0 sense to me. He could have won major stakes races at Belmont the last 2 weeks.
