My wife was addicted to reality TV shows like the Bachelor and others. I don't think she ever encountered a reality show she didn't like. Some of them were fairly entertaining like the gold miners in Alaska and the alligator hunters in Louisiana and the pawn stars in Vegas, but I could only tolerate so much of the Housewives of New York or Orange County or Beverly Hills before I had to retreat to the computer to see what was going on at Derby Trail or DRF or Blood Horse.

I watch Gold Rush religiously, mostly for the segments where they teach you the inner-workings.

That said, it’s the only ‘reality’ tv show that I’ll even think about watching!
