I cannot think of a film he's directed that has disappointed and Downsizing is no exception.
Pretty strong review.....Saw the trailers at the movies...still not sure yet if i will see it....but have to consider it.

so far 3 billboards is still my #1 or best picture

I agree with you, I think Downsizing is very good but not better than 3 Billboards, and I also would place Lady Bird above it and perhaps more pictures I am still needing to see more contenders. Might see Shape of Water today, not sure quite yet, and I also look forward to seeing Molly's Game, I am a big fan of Aaron Sorkin's writing and this is his directorial debut.

I haven't seen the of the new releases but I have been catching up on some of the releases from earlier this year. Here is a quick ranking.

1. Big Sick
2. Wind River
3. Detroit
4. Dunkirk

I really wanted to like Baby Driver and Logan Lucky but for both I kept thinking I have seen this movie before. They are worth seeing but not great. Logan Lucky I was hoping for a red neck version of Lock Stock but it was more Oceans 11.

Red Sparrow. This should have been called Red Snapper because it was like watching bad soft core porn. The only thing good about it is pictured below. Lots of sexual innuendo and boobs. Lots of boobs and arse. Otherwise just a really, really bad movie.

Not that anyone reads these reviews but I have to say that Lean on Pete is a tragic tale of horse racing and other. I needed to get my Valium refilled a.s.a.p. You have been notified.

I'm still giving it 4.5 stars for the kid Charlie Plummer who may be in every scene. Tremendous job.
