It looks like ARKANSAS and FLORIDA have the fastest races,
whereas they seemed to have crawled in the Wood and at SA.

when you asked your question I thought it was for THIS YEARS preps. What difference does it make knowing what horses from past derbys have run. This is 2017 with different horses! Who gives a **** what I'll have Another ran in a prep race 5 years ago?

I do.
You look to the past to see what were the winners statistics. Then you look at this years colts and try to reach a comparison of congruity between this years colts and the past winners data. If this year there is a few animals that have the stats that would have made them winners in the past, at least you know they were capable of a win in years past.
