I didn't like the show that much when it first came on the air, but it sure grew on me. I really liked Grady! And Red Foxx was far more talented and accomplished than my kid mind realized at the time.

"Barney Miller" was another classic fave of my mine from the same era.

Just to bring this back to horse racing, "Nick" from Barney Miller was a regular on episode reader of the DRF....

The creator of Barney Miller was Danny Arnold. He made millions of dollars from that show. He was a big horse owner out here. He had a ton of horses back in the 1990s. He died about 10 years ago. I used to be very friendly with his two sons but I haven't see either one of them in a few years.
