Take a ride out to Old Friends one morning. It is a great way to spend a couple hours. It's maybe 20 minutes from Keenland and the airport.
We always stay in Louisville so I can't help much with food. West 6th is a fine brewery if you like beer.

Lexington north is cheap and close..la quinta I've stayed at a bunch of times, four points, super 8 Georgetown, best western Georgetown doubletree are all solid..extended stay kinda sucked. Red state is great BBQ, fat cats good pizza if your north. Everyone swears by malones which is okay but not amazing imo..the parkette has been on diners drive ins and dives. I got for opening weekend spring and fall every year. Bring some grub and booze..park for free on the hill and take the shuttle down...hope for good weather cuz keeneland can be the coldest place on earth. Let me know if you wanna hook up for a beer or something.
I'll.be in the grandstand on the finish line both days. You'll have a good time.
best track.in the country by far imo

Buffalo Trace is also awesome.

To sum up, you need to spend a week not a weekend.
