But I do believe that if a trainer is found using EPO or another substance that only be used for enhancement they should be given a serious penalty, not a slap on the wrist. However almost every positive test that we hear about is an overage of a widely used and accepted medicine. Most of these positives have very little effect and many of them are only called positives based upon the rules of a particular state. Meaning that 2 nanograms of a particular medication may be found in a horses system, state A calls it a positive, state B does not. When you bet on the race in state A you feel cheated even though the SAME amount of medication is being run on in state B, where you have no problem.
