![]() Thanks for asking for input, Andy. Some interesting ideas. Not sure if some of the structures would be feasible in today's world with so much ADW money. Some of these wagers were done at smaller tracks and before ADW's. Making two transactions on a multi-race bet could be more complex for both track and bettors for the money it's bringing in. I think twin quinellas, twin exacta's and twin tris could all work somewhat.
One of the nice things you have in NYRA is one of the largets labs in the country. The data from pools could show you pretty quickly what a new wager would do. Especially the effect on other pools and handle. I like the Grand Slam and will play it when at SAR. It seems to be popular with the crowd and especially smaller bankroll, occasional players. It gives you some wiggle room in 3 legs so has some forgiveness built in an lets people stay live in a multi-race wager without being perfect. It works much better with large fields and payouts can be good at SAR. It's not that attractive at BEL and AQU on smaĺler fields. Big day cards there it works good. I'm in PA and restricted by zip code to only 2 ADW's (Parx and Harrah's TVG-pabets) and neither of them offer the Grand Slam on NYRA. |
