It was understandably overshadowed this weekend, but nice to see Lady Shipman get her long overdue first graded stakes win.

So what is Curalina? She has 2 races this year that make her the leader of the division, Beholder and Stellar Wind included. Then she has a no excuse disaster at Belmont. What do we get next?

No excuse disaster? You mean when she broke poorly and made the first move into a pace that fell apart and still finished fourth, beaten less than four lengths with a 96 Beyer? Yes, what a disgraceful effort.

Curalina is not a superstar. Her two blowout wins this year have a lot to do with who was behind her. Carrumba is simply not that good and other than an off-form Sheer Drama, there was nothing in the La Troienne. One thing Curalina is not, however, is inconsistent.

You have to run in them to win one...what did she run in like 3 in 17 starts?
She was awesome in defeat last year though in the big race.

It's not her fault that the races aren't there for female turf sprinters. The implication that she's ducked anyone when she ran in two of the toughest turf sprint stakes on the planet is pretty laughable.
