we have a serious issue with who is hiring and training. we have mental health issues that are largely being ignored. we have troops returning with ptsd and nothing or next to nothing is done. we have police on the streets for years-what is done for their mental well being? over time, when one is confronted daily with the worst of society, that will have an effect.
we owe it to both the police and the citizenry to get this fixed.

All fine points. I had a lengthy psych written test to get hired as a security officer (likely the same test that evil Orlando shooter took, but different company), i know this is OBVIOUS but prospective hires are getting around these questions and answering the way they think will get them hired, only to show their true colors later. Again, not all security or cops but some bad apples are slipping through the hiring process and it is becoming more and more dangerous to both the citizens and fellow officers.
