They issued an apology today, several days later. Really didn't explain anything, just said "Sorry, our bad".

Curious was why it won't happen again and any steps taken to prevent it. PR is a mess on this.

I do think these bets are detrimental. The low increment causes the lower bankroll player to participate, yet gives them only a lottery-style chance to reap the rewards. Dan Borislow was a gòod example (RIP), he went in with a big ticket. He gathered up a whole lot of $10 daily tickets that could have been churned in WPS and EX bets.

Seth has a good handle on it, going for the conso's. However, the game is pushing the bettors toward horizontal wagering at the expense of churn. I think to the deteiment.

I ddn't think it's changed much, but the average person used to bet $200 on a day at the races. If you lock up 1/3 of your bankroll on a horizontal wager, that precludes playing other races. I think if I was a track working with that $200/day patron, I'd want to get them vertical and give them 10 events to play. A couple of cashed tickets turns that $200 bet to $500 and gives them a better chance at success than horizontals.

I agree it's better than the lottery, but does it really support the handle ?
