A $60k purse pays for a year's worth of expenses, and puts your horse in a profitable position for the rest if the year. Obviously, Chad had Inordinate torqued for that race and they found a perfect spot, with Javy on board. These types of opportunities are not abundant. Hope they can find another one soon.

It was one of the worst Ive ever seen. Especially since Javy gets away with murder on a daily basis. Roman Approval was getting absolutely nothing.

The explanation on the Stewards Corner of the NYRA website is as idiotic as I expected. The lack of consistency from the stewards is obviously a huge problem.
It was more of a judgment call, but how they determined Roman Approval was more likely to get a better placing than a horse like Pine Needles in the 2nd on Friday is beyond me. That starts to incorporate opinions of racing that they simply don't have. With all that goes on out there on a daily basis, why Jose Ortiz felt compelled to object in this situation is an absolute head scratcher as well. |
