Honest about what? Honest that he knows specifically others on this board ( and I won't even include myself ) that are more connected than at least some of the four he named?

We all know the racetrack is a rumor mill.

With all sincerlty and whatever modicum of due respect, let me ask what does being "more connected" get anybody? The track IS a rumor mill there's far more bad information than good floating around.

I find the connected people I know to be, for the most part, poor bettors. They can't seem to get past that "fear of regret" barrier.

Anyways, as you were...

LOL..Honest about the way a lot of trainers, jocks, agents etc. etc. think about those that "just bet," or "just watch" the races. The fans etc. are just necessary evils to these elite folks. They have a long way to go before they get as fan friendly as other sports.Bailey couldn't give a sht about the fans until he wanted to sell that DVD,and then he suddenly is on a commercial telling everybody that the fans are important.LOL,NOW they are important to him.

I don't agree. Some get it and some don't but for the most part the participants in the game are very respectful of the fans. And especially of the true fans. Whether or not they share information is another story, and considering how bad most of their info is they would probably be doing a public service if they never shared anything.

The average fan doesn't even know who a lot of these characters are, especially jockey agents, but for the most part they are nice to fans who approach them. Look, there's always a Mark Hennig in every bunch, but I don't think you have a perceptively different mix among racetrack denizens than you do in the rest of the world.

There actually quite a few who take fans for granted in my opinion. Far too many.

Thats crazy scud.... You can find any trainer, gallop boy, jockey, agent, any of those guys at your local golf course, restaurant, bar, whatever. You dont see them walking around with body guards. When have you seen Barry Bonds ever stop and speak to someone walking on or off the field. Ask Borel, Toups, or Albarado a question sometime when they come out of the tunnel, see what you get. I would be shocked if any of the three didnt walk over and acknowledge you personally.

As for the trainers, which trainers do you want to speak with? Cannon comes in here and expresses himself, any trainer prior to a race is over on the front side. They dont sneak out of a dugout, they dont drive up in a limo. Most of them are in normal cars parked with everyone else. At Churchill you can walk up and speak to them whenever you want.

As for a jocks agents who really cares about a jocks agent? I would think you would want to avoid them more than you would want to speak with them.

Most of the guys in this sport are very gracious, down to earth, and easily accessible to the public

There was a guy up here who used to be the agent for a former eclipse winning jock. People would scatter and run when they saw him coming, for real.

Hooves,
I am NOT an insider. And if you read my posts you will see that I never claim to be one. Show me one post where I claim to be one will you?

And by the way, th ebest "inside info" comes from exceptional clockers, not trainers or jocks or agents, etc.
The reason for this being that trainers only know how their own horse is doing, not everyone elses.
When a trainer or owner tells me to bet his horse, I say ok, but rarely will do so based on that.
There is like one guy alive who can tell me to bet someone that i will automatically include, and since hes up every morning at 4:30 watching horses go every morning, all morning, and hall of famers call HIM to ask him how he thinks THEIR horses are doing, I respect the hell out of him.
I don't post "inside info" on here, but will be very happy to IM with someone off the board in a private conversation about what I have HEARD. I never take credit for this info, and always say "my clocker told me", because lets face it, what the hell do I know about how 1sters are working at Belmont up here in saratoga?
Scav made out ok with something I was told today.

I talked to Perez Hilton and he said a big story on Rene and Nicole Richie is hitting the wire in a few hours. Something about Rene getting out of Nicole's SUV in South Beach and he was snapped wearing no underwear.

How can you say it's crazy when Oracle just said it a couple hours ago? Look at the quote. He is just talking the way people "in the business" talk about fans and bettors (when they are talking together.)

Hoss,
The other day BTW wondered on here why a horse named Critical Decision who looked as if he had to make the lead didn't make the lead. I wondered right back on here myself, because I couldn't believe it either.
Box comes on later and tells us he sustained a condylar fracture. Now see, thats what I wanna know about.
Now we can't benefit off that info, cause he will be out a while. But guys like that will know when a horse bled, entrapped, or maybe were sick. Thats the kind of info you WANT!!!! And its the kind that only people working in the game can give you with any accuracy.
Richi has given out some damn good firsters at prices as well off his breezes from sales that hes seen. Those breezes aren't kept on file and easilt obtained. he maintains records.
I just value **** like that more than 14 paragraph posts that could be condensed to two sentences that really only state the obvious.
I know what Bid does, and I can totally see why he got jumped on because of what he said, but hes gonna give you or me info in the future that we WILL want.
That was my point, not what some folks are now trying to lead you to believe. If it wasn't clear what I meant, it is now.

I think this is very true. Most guys seem genuinely happy to answer your questions.
