I am not assuming anything, other maybe than the excuse given is complete BS.
Why would you assume they wouldn't want the event?
I read the article but don't see anything that says NYRA bid for the event. I don't have any insider knowledge. But, I do know that tracks aren't exactly knocking down the doors of the Breeders Cup to host.
