yeah the weather thing is what the cable companies always uses to bash dish.

but Im telling you man,
i had directv my first 2 years of college and dish network ever since then (toal of like 7 years now) and I can count on one hand the number of times I lost reception b/c of storms.
the wind never knocks out the signal.

it takes a hell of a storm to knock out the signal, but even then it ususally is back up within 10 minutes.
its only happened a few times.

Dish is awesome.
I have 2 dual recievers which basically means I control 4 different tvs with just 2 recievers and both are dvr recievers.
I have one of the more basic packages, but it still gives you all the espns, all the local channels, all the major entertainment channels, all the educational/documentary channels, and most importantly TVG and HRTV.
My bill is only like $60/month.
its a great value and if I were home more, i would upgrade packages and it still would be relatively inexpensive.
