Do some of you guys meet up or sit at the same table. I know some of you are long time players and have many contacts besides this site, but was wondering what you guys do, this is my first NHC. The other live tournaments I have played in (Surfside), I just sat by myself. This year however, I did introduce myself to Kinchen, Arias, and some others, but doubt they will remember me lol.

I guess you can save seats sometime on Wednesday? I will be arriving early afternoon 1pm. I know they have some orientation activities later in the afternoon.

My first time last year, I picked a chair after I finished with registration, picked the table that was stage left, halfway between the betting tellers and the food, right by the bar. One of the players that was at the same table with me is returning this year also, we are going to try and hook up and get seated at the same table again. Shoot me a PM and let me know what table you land on and I will drop by and introduce myself. G'Luck!

The schedule they sent us, on Thursday 1/28 it says Guest Event 11am-1pm, Penthouse Suite (Sponsored by Nationwide). Any idea what that is, and why they have something right in the middle of Day 1? Doesn't make sense.

Good luck players - you've accomplished alot just to get there.

Focus and reach for the win. Best of luck to you all

I think that's an event for guests of players.

Once you check in, find a table where there's an opening and you can put your placard on the back of it to "claim" it.

I hate being in the main ballroom because I feel like the emotional ebbs and flows of every race are exacerbated being in there. So, I went to the auxiliary room in the back last year. No matter where you go, you can count on making friends and sharing in one of the greatest racing experiences you'll ever have.

That makes sense. My wife and Stepson could check it out then.

I agree with Nick about the main room. I play from the race book instead. It is quite, you get your own TV, and don't get caught up in emotions.

If I would give one piece of advice to a first time player, it is to tune out everything. You will see prices come in and hear lots of cheering every race. Just block it out and play your own game. Set a goal and stick to it. And, most of all, have fun.

I tried this on Sat a bit last year but was overwhelmed by the lines for the tellers. How do you manage that?

They had three or four self service machines. I never had any issues in the three years I played there.
