i hope they find him soon. and if the mother is with him, and helped him run, i hope she gets the max penalty.
no excuse for this. he should never have gotten off so lightly originally, and the new video probably would have put him in jail for some time, which is why his mother most likely fled with him.

Granted I am not following this story closely but the thing I don't understand is that he was on probation. Why would someone on probation flee when the penalty for that is probation revoked and jail ?

Because he had been filmed drinking, and was most likely going to be jailed for violating probation. There was talk he would get 10 years.
