Well, the great state of New York has no problem putting people on horse racing oversight committees who know exactly nothing about the sport, so why do we expect more from Canada? At least all she could do on the board was hand out awards.

For that matter, we're letting billionaires who have never spent a second of their lives teaching in a classroom dictate to us how to fix education.

Which is not to say that I don't have some pretty funny bad teacher anecdotes. When I was working in education at a conservation facility, one of the guys I supervised had to gently tell a third grade teacher that no, crocodiles are not mammals. She argued it with him, too.
