The fact that Best Western can get over $100 a night for hotel room at any horse racing event pretty much puts to rest the horse racing is a dying sport claim.

I'm sure the America's Best Value will be creepy but we are getting in very late Friday and just want the closest place to the track to lay down and get a few winks. Hopefully those winks won't come with a side of bedbugs. Not sure how we are getting to the track in the morning but will probably go very early and drive. Getting excited!! This is my first Breeders Cup. We are planning on leaving immediately after the Classic and stopping in Cincinnati on our way back home to Ohio.

I've stayed at a couple best westerns on horse racing trip and haven't had any issues. Last thing I want to be doing is sleeping with one eye open cuz of creepy crawlers.
I'm also doing the cincy thing on Saturday and maybe Thursday. Its an easy trip down from there and places are going to be about 1000x cheaper. Stayed at a place across the highway from turfway that was about $50 and just fine. |

We always stay at the Microtel Inn either in Georgetown or Lexington, whichever is cheaper. Not a great hotel by any means but rooms are clean and both locations are good. Checked daily last year until that weekend was available to book. Was close to $200 a night at Georgetown. $73 a night for Lexington which isn't much more than what we normally pay. They are independently owned, the Georgetown owner was on the ball. My wife is going to take pictures. I decided not to buy tickets. I think I'll enjoy myself more staying in the room and watching it on TV or on my tablet. |

I also heard parking would be extremely limited if available at all.
I have no clue how this is going to turn out. If its going to be a disaster or the greatest experience ever. It could seriously go either way depending on how its handled. |

Ticket prices are crazy. A friend of mine got two aisle seats in Section C plus a parking pass through the regular public sale. The prices (asking prices at least) on StubHub are so rich he is almost compelled to try to sell them. Hard to turn down a potential 500% ROI--that will almost certainly beat his wagering return those days!
