CNN: Republicans acknowledge they didn't properly vet Archuleta's qualifications
https://twitter.com/CNNPolitics/stat...67525659947008

That's right. The OPM Director who resigned/was fired in the wake of the hacking of 22.1 million current, former and prospective U.S. government employees, and their family members (you know, the one who mocked then presidential candidate Mitt Romney over his warnings about Chinese hackers and Russia’s status as America’s greatest geopolitical foe), who was nominated by President Obama and confirmed in a 62-35 vote (54 Dems and 8 Reps), wasn't properly vetted by Republicans.

Ms. Archuleta: Mitt Romney's statements reveal "little understanding of what's going on in the 21st century."

"Thanks to the Obama administration’s negotiations, Iran’s nuclear program will be under lock, key and camera 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The eyes of the international community are on every centrifuge, every ounce of uranium, in all of Iran’s nuclear facilities. Inspectors have “when needed, where needed” inspection rights to any Iranian military site suspected of being involved in the nuclear program."

"A 39-year-old state lawmaker from Bethesda was arrested in late June and charged with indecent exposure and trespassing after a dispute at the home of her ex-husband, according to court records.

A charging document said Del. Ariana B. Kelly (D-Mongtomery) was dropping off her children at her ex-husband’s house, in the 5300 block of Alta Vista Road in Bethesda, when she became upset that his fiancee was inside the residence. Kelly and Barak Sanford were divorced in November, according to court records.

Sanford told police that Kelly started ringing the doorbell and banging on the door and that he asked her to leave.

According to the charging document, Sanford played a cellphone video for police that showed Kelly ringing the doorbell “numerous times,” exposing her breasts in the direction of Sanford’s cellphone camera and then “with one breast in each hand [shaking] them up and down.”

An officer who responded to the scene told Kelly that she could be arrested for indecent exposure and asked her to leave. According to the document, Kelly said: “Arrest me then,” and she extended her wrists toward the officer.

Kelly, who was elected to the House of Delegates in 2010 and reelected last year, is a member of the Health and Government Operations Committee. She has been active in women’s rights and health issues, sponsoring a bill permitting midwives to assist at home births that passed the General Assembly in the spring.

She is also a member of a legislative task force that is studying maternal mental health issues."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/...059_story.html

Kelly attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she studied History, Women's Studies, and TV/Film Production.

Kelly has an extensive background in nonprofit management, media, and social service. In her early career, Kelly worked at Travelers Aid International, Girls Inc, and Legal Momentum. Kelly also produced PBS’ To The Contrary, a weekly news program. She covered a wide range of issues including state and federal legislation, business, education, health, and the environment. After leaving PBS, Kelly served as Executive Director at NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland, and as Environmental Health Campaign Director for MomsRising.org.

I have to think he's still number two (he he) due to name recognition. But, he really is a good representation of the republican party...and they won't say much to rein him in, because they don't want to tick him off and him run as an Indy...which could happen anyway!

well, folks have been begging for a candidate who doesn't exist on sound bites and a parroting of party lines...be careful what you ask for! Being an old man, I recall a candidate from the past who gained considerable traction using similar tactics to Trump...his name was George Wallace. Appealing to the dark side of human nature gets one short term support...thankfully even conservative republicans will eventually see behind the curtain.

Trump and Bernie Sanders making noise with the Dems. I think this shows you very clearly that people are disgusted with the status quo politicians lining their own pockets and their owners pockets at the expense of all of us. These 2 are not of that mold and all the others are regardless of the colors they wear.

[O]n Aug. 2, the House Oversight Committee issued its first subpoena for IRS documents, including all of Ms. Lerner’s emails. On Feb. 2, 2014, Kate Duval, the IRS commissioner’s counsel, identified a gap in the Lerner emails that were being collected. Days later, Ms. Duval learned that the gap had been caused in 2011 when the hard drive of Ms. Lerner’s computer crashed.

Despite all this—an internal IRS preservation order, a congressional subpoena, and knowledge about Ms. Lerner’s hard-drive and email problems—the Treasury inspector general for tax administration discovered that the agency on March 4, 2014, erased 422 backup tapes containing as many as 24,000 emails. (Congress learned of the discovery only last month.)

Ms. Duval has since left the IRS and now works at the State Department, where she is responsible for vetting Hillary Clinton’s emails sought by congressional investigations of the Benghazi attacks.

I'd love Palin in my cabinet too. That way I can put a lock on it and we never would have to deal with the chance she gets elected for anything.
