P Val is attempting to make another comeback. He's hoping to ride at Del Mar this meet. I don't know whether he has gotten the okay from the stewards at this point. But I do know that he plans on coming back this summer.

Thank you for that and happy to hear... not necessarily what his plans are but as a human being, you know? That he is still among the living.

He will always be one of the greatest jockeys I have had the privilege to see and I will always wish the man strength, peace and happiness.

Regarding his attempted comeback? I hope that whatever is meant to happen for him does. There can't be an abundance of things a former jock would excel at BUT, if this latest comeback attempt doesn't pan out? I do hope he can figure out a way to use his talents and find purpose... be useful, find happiness.

Maybe it's not popular but I will always root for the guy.

I think alcoholism and drug abuse are both bona fide diseases and to root against those afflicted would be equivalent to rooting against a lung cancer patient for smoking.

Hope they both make it back as both are hugely talented. If not I hope both beat their illnesses.

Is every heavy drinker an alcoholic? Cause I'm pretty sure everybody with lung cancer has lung cancer, and they'd all love to quit lung cancer.

Of course not but every heavy drinker that has lost their career and or family/way of life a la alcoholic would love to quit drinking and thus quit alcoholism.

BTW not every smoker has lung cancer.
