According to Paul Allen and KFAN radio, Canterbury Park and Mystic Lake Casino & Hotel are in the final stages of crafting an offer for a $2 million purse race that will take place at the end of August.

Under its current format, The Mystic Lake Derby rolls with a prize purse of $200,000. If, and only if, American Pharoah accepts an invitation, the Derby will undergo a few adjustments, most notably knocking the purse up to $2,000,000! On top of the prize purse increase the 1 mile distance turf race, will be extended and pushed onto the main track (dirt).

That would be incredible (for me) as I will have been present for 4 straight races of his if they in fact go this route, as unlikely as it is.

At any rate, I'm over the moon that they will likely continue to run him.
