 Got this from a friend... This guy Ed Wendell from my old neighborhood Woodhaven in Queens is a local historian. He dug up all this forgotten info about these trees in the local park. You know they just didn't grow by themselves in a line following the road through the park. So he dug up old newspaper clippings and found they were planted as a remembrance of the local fellows who were killed in WWI.
