Something to the effect (don't remember the exact words) of Lukas admitting and saying that Mr. Z has little chance running with these horses but he may be able to compromise one of them. He may be getting senile?

It's not that he's senile.

He's an egotistical ******* that puts his pride first, before the horse.

I hope Zayats never send him another horse.

Lukas is very shortsighted and plays the short game over the long game.

Doesn't sound like the definition of "Greatness" to me. Maybe he is just lucky or it's all about the assistants who have gone on to be "pretty good" trainers themselves.

Every spring the same story plays out...

One group always wants the other group to crown [insert horse here] as a superstar while the other group wants the other group to not crown [insert horse here] as the superstar yet. A third group wants themselves to be crowned because they spotted [insert horse here] before anyone else did as the next superstar.

But ultimately the economic engine in this sport - gambling - is best served by creating logical and thorough discussions about what produces the results in horse racing. Unfortunately, the groups above struggle to do this without insulting others or assuming the other group does not ultimately want the same thing.

Smartest thing I've read in a while.

It's not like he has too much longer to go.

Because you should keep horses in barn or in hyperbaric chambers until they are busting out of their skin and only run them when the stars are aligned perfectly.

In case you forgot Travis DWL is an all time great trainer that was just lucky his whole career and really doesnt know horses well...LOL the insanity never stops

Sure, one of the greatest all time but it doesn't stop him from being ignorant now and then does it? I'm sure many trainers think the same thing at times but they're smart enough not to say it out loud publicly. We'll, some of them say stupid things often.

Well, this thread was a fun read.

Yes, AP's time was slow, hardly a surprise considering the track condition. Hustled to the lead, his opening half was fast enough, and then he relaxed. He did exactly what VE asked him to do. The horse eventually separated himself from the field, and Victor barely even showed him the whip in the stretch, so the time means next to nothing to me.

I know "the odds" are against him winning the Belmont, but I'm liking his chances, even against Frosted and the Pletcher trio. This horse shows heart.

But what do I know. I even like FLW.
