It wouldn't be the 2015 Triple Crown season if a Baffert trainee didn't get a cozy setup and rapidly become the next super horse.

Well, he does start his season off a 2yo Championship.

What's his responsibility for lining up opponents?

Not Baffert's fault by any means. With the Southwest being pushed back, OP was always up against it in terms of filling the Rebel field.

American Pharaoh is a wildly hyped horse who has gotten a ton of mileage out of a wire-to-wire win where he set an incredibly slow pace then a series of workouts. Yes, the also-rans from his last start came back to perform well, but they were the compromised ones.

Perhaps I'm overly critical and still smarting a bit from Dortmund's cupcake trip a week ago. One of these days they will face even a modicum of adversity in a race.

The question is does he run faster than the razorback. I think he does.
