Am I seriously the only one that contributes to this thread?
We all love Nicki Minaj... but this cover is gold In fact, if you guys haven't heard of Postmodern Jukebox yet, look them up on Youtube and check out a few of their covers. Pretty awesome what they can do... http://youtu.be/Ez-apj-Od1I Here's their version of Iggy Azalea http://youtu.be/NzPGzGUNZbs

It'd be rare for me to post here, as it's rare for me to feel that any cover is better than the original (exceptions duly noted). Gonna contribute now.
Rock Me Mama (aka Wagon Wheel) ~ Bob Dylan (by way of Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup by way of Big Bill Broonzy??) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNTsYfjBcuQ might not even qualify as a "good song" Wagon Wheel ~ Old Crow Medicine Show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH0CnjXqCLE I like this OCMS video best because by its very nature this is an awesome live/bar song. Interesting how it came together. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagon_Wheel_(song) As for the Rucker version? Meh. I'll take a string band any old day. |

to continue with the Postmodern Jukebox theme-
They pulled in a female vocalist named Morgan James to sing Maroon 5's "Maps". Unlike the Nikki Minaj cover and the ones they've done of Miley, Iggy, etc, that were more on the goofy side (but really well done), this one is a lot more serious, but really done well. If you don't wanna sit through all 3 minutes of it, fast forward to about 2:45 and let it play out just to hear Morgan James' voice blossom. Holy **** amazing talent! Enjoy. Maroon 5 "Maps" Original http://youtu.be/xj6fHiF8Osg Cover (done in a 60s Motown Soul Style) http://youtu.be/8gO_lxThc1M
