Default l'ville lunacy

supposedly, the head coaching job at louisville has been offered to bobby petrino.

and a texas deep pocketed booster said hiring Strong, formerly of l'ville, was a 'kick in the face'.

ah, college football...gotta love it.

Disappointed this wasn't about the cost of admission to the Derby.

Latrino, is a quitter and an idiot! He'll probably screw up again at some point, pretty dumb decision to hire him back in my opinion.

yeah, we called him quitrino, but i like latrino-i'll have to use that in future. he's a snake in the grass. every year at louisville he signed an extension, because every year he was looking for 'something better'. and then, he even tried to find something better in regards to his wife...

when saban announced he was leaving lsu for miami, petrino contacted lsu-just a few days after signing that years' extension.

he hurt recruiting at arkansas while still here, with players telling potential recruits that 'if you want negative feedback, and not positive...if you want yelled at, cussed at when you mess up, and nothing is said when you're doing good, arkansas is the place to come to. so, many went elsewhere.
he's lied to everyone he's ever been involved with. AD at arkansas, his wife, arthur blank-he even left a typed note on the players lockers in atlanta, telling them he quit. real class act. his coaches at atlanta still have nothing nice to say about him.

Facts are facts.
Bobby Petrino is a damned good college coach. His record as a college head coach is 83-30. His record at Louisville which was hardly a football power when he arrived was 41-9 with a BCS bowl win, 2 conference titles and had Louisville ranked in the top 6 at the end of the year 2 times in 4 years. His record at Arkansas was 34-17, got them to a BCS bowl and had them ranked 12th and 5th in the final season rankings his last 2 years there. He went 8-4 at Western KY last year.

While he may not exactly be a fine moral standard we are talking about college athletics.

Charlie Strong who got the Texas job was 37-15 in his 4 years at Louisville and never had them ranked higher than 13th and that was good enough for the Texas job.

i know all that, i know he's a 'winner'. i'd no sooner support petrino than i would a trainer with great stats who's a cheater.

Don't confuse moral standards with football standings. Winning is all that matters in the big college sports.

Petrino has never been accused of breaking rules other than a few of the 10 commandments. The system might be lunacy but Louisville hiring the best available coach isnt. It also doesnt hurt that he is undefeated against Kentucky.

No doubt about it, if you want to win football games Petrino is the guy to hire.

Between Petrino and Pitino, is every coach cheating on their wife down there, or just the Italian ones?
