Point here was, Jamgotchian's message should be well taken: Never sell the machinations of Stronach short. He's a shrewd guy.

Stronach may have a point usurping the Oak Tree dates. And no. Oak Tree is not sacrosanct. Agree that if some ownership stability isn't forthcoming in CA immediately, there won't be any dates to worry about.

![]() Frank's tough talk is already backfiring. He thinks he's going to pressure the CHRB into giving SA more days. He wants to put Hollywood out of business and get all of those days.
His tough talk totally backfired. I heard that the head of the CHRB told Frank that if they don't fix their track and get a track that drains, that the CHRB may take away all of Santa Anita's days and give them to Hollywood Park. That is classic. I would have loved to have seen the expression on Frank's face when he heard that. |

![]() Not really being close enough to the situation to give an objective opinion, my only question is this. Why on earth did Stronach fight to keep Santa Anita in the bankruptcy settlement, if he doesn't want to invest in it?
I realize he needs help from other sources and can't do it alone, but it seems like a headache he doesn't need. |

It's funny that Stronach thought he had the CHRB by the balls with regard to putting in a new track. In reality, they have him by the balls. They can take away all his winter racing dates if he doesn't fix the track. |

Horse racing was already deregulated pre-Stronach. And the pari-mutuels (not just Frank) got shafted when gaming was expanded. |
