Deep Impact clearly did not run his race. Quite frankly, I think the horse was short from the layoff, and he obviously was a little closer to the pace than he would have liked to have been. If the big three ever face again, Deep Impact will hand it to them. Deep Impact proved to me that he really is the best turf horse in the world in this race. With that being said, I don't think Hurricane Run is himself. He wasn't himself in the Prix Foy. He didn't switch leads until he hit the wire in the Prix Foy. His gallop doesn't look as good as it used to. I think that he is having some soundness issues. |
