What up with the tone?

Can't some one have an opinion without getting slapped in the face?
So what if it is obvious? May be it is maybe it isn't.
As i tell my 7 year old girl who is constantly provoking her little brother: if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all..... Can't we just let some things pass and left unsaid.
