Ouch.....B's played about as close to a perfect hockey game as has been seen opposite the Pens in a long long time. Boston has actually improved since the playoffs started. Give them credit for game 1, they just dominated.

really think people need to keep in mind the tomas vokoun factor.
guy has never been this far in the playoffs, and he's a plug for the le flour right now, i think the B's expose him big time this series

Kind of think the opposite, people go to sleep not knowing how good Rask is for the B's. He's the reason they stole game 1 in my eyes. He was excellent and got some help from the iron when needed. He outplayed Lundqvist early in that series and is off to another excellent start.

how do they go to sleep?
guy has been the starter all season for the B's, who have been a playoff caliber team all year. He's the one who made Tim Thomas expendable.
Vokoun just got the nod over the flower during the playoffs, and has never really been a low scoring goalie.
The pens might have a 100M offense and defense, but keep in mind they're playing with a back up between the pipes

I agree with this. Vokoun gave up a lot of juicy rebounds in the first two series that didn"t end up in the back of the net. Vokoun is especially bad when the puck gets around his feet. There will be plenty of goals scored in this series.

I just feel like Rask flies under the radar and doesn't get his due.

Fluery was horrendous last year too, hence them getting Vokoun in the off-season. One he regained his playoff form of last season and couldn't stop a beach ball, Disco Dan made the right move going to Vokoun.

i agree. goalie vs goalie, i have to give the nod to rask over the old man. he got brought to washington last year, and just didn't do the trick. the goalie is definitely the weak point for the pens.

rask has big skates to fill, and i think has done a great job doing so. he doesn't get the same respect as howard, crawford, quick...but does a great job.
and fleury is just so damned inpredictable. never thought he deserved a lot of the praise he got-but that's the penguins in a nutshell when it comes to coverage.

Disagree, he's been terrible. Maybe if they lose game 2. But I leave Vokoun in for now. Can't win if you don't score.

puck just hops off his pads, got to see that first hand in DC, where he was the starter the majority of the year only ride the pine come playoffs.
AND
he's a wrong handed goalie, hate'm, they weird me out. When i'm shooting high glove as a right handed shot i want to be shooting over your glove not your blocker, they're freak shows those wrong handers.

regardless of how many goals they score, if the pens lose tonight i think there's a very good chance they kick the tires again on the flower... at home

not sure that would spark them. others play better when they know the goalie has their back. vokoun is their best chance to win....which should be a real concern for them!

and crosby elbowing rask, and then jawing at chara-not the brightest candle on the cake...

Disagree 100% and I despise Crosby. He's trying to rile up Rask and doing his job as leader by not backing down against one of the biggest and badest mofo's in the league. Everything you want and need as Captain.
