Made me go out and get the book "Battle Cry of Freedom" by James McPherson and read it for more of the broad background of the politics that went on. Also made me get out my Battle of Antietam PC game and start fighting that one again! I think Shiloh will be next.

i cried when he was walking away towards the end. knew full well the ending, but it still completely sucks ass. that man gave everything he could to keep this country together and peace is finally about to be realized, and he could reap the fruits of his labors, and that bastard kills him. god it makes me so pissed.



mcpherson wrote a great book. get the rest in that series of american history. what hath god wrought is good-they all are.
and have you read shelby foote's three books? it's a handful, but well worth the time and effort.
