Did I miss something? The party that wants government out of our lives wants to dictate the practice of obstetrics and gynecology?

Lorna Wyckoff's Commentary column, "Sliding back to sadder times," is spot on. Her friend was one of the lucky ones who survived an illegal abortion. During my training years my attitude about abortion was forever influenced by being at the bedside of an 18 year old girl and watching helplessly as she died of uncontrollable sepsis resulting from a coat-hanger, back alley abortion. Choosing a safe medical abortion is a decision to be made by an individual woman and no one else.

"Real men want empowered women" (and for Anti, change that to "real women")

McDonnell has now completely trashed his Vice Presidential ambitions. The only ones left are Christie, Rubio and Daniels.

The new bill doesn't have the transvaginal internal ultrasound, it has external ultrasound, but it's still the Big government dictating health care and costing people money for unnecessary health procedures - with felony penalties!

These people have zero appreciation that they "do" exactly what they accuse others of. It's crazy!

There was a good discussion on one of the political programs in the last day or so (Morning Joe maybe?) about how, 20 years ago, people warned the GOP that they would have to abandon the John Birch Society and the crazies if they wanted to survive as a political party.

Instead, the GOP has gone off the deep end, and embraced the far, far right wing faction whole hog. It's crazy. They are imploding, and they are the cause of their own destruction.
