It was a new version of Veterans Day at River Downs at River Downs on Wednesday as highlighted by the return of 52-year-old Francisco Vidal to the winner's circle. Vidal put in a strong closing performance to catch the leaders in the final strides in the third race aboard Talented Princess.
"I feel really good right now and hope that the trainers here see I'm back in shape and ready to win races for them," said Vidal as he entered the jockeys quarters and was greeted by many well wishers on his return.
