Good Morning Nerdy Trailers!

48 stinkin degrees here in FLA....Had to turn the furnace on last night for the first time this season

Anyway- this brisk and rude awakening reminded me of this for some reason:

I guess it is because to me it's the quintessential portrait of restless yearning: with all of those essential elements melded -the guy, his girl, the romance of cars, the stagnating small town, the symbolic freedom of the open road, and a burning faith in the redemptive power of rock'n'roll.

Enjoy

This is a bittersweet day for me, actually. I'm going to change the motor oil in my truck.

That's the Sweet part.

The Bitter - I must part with a dear old friend. A friend who has been with me through thick and thin, a friend that has been in the past, as flexible and helpful, endearing and stylish as one could possibly be - much to the envy of all who have enjoyed my friends company.

He stands singularly as a symbol of freedom; a symbol of burning faith, and the last and final bastion of bachelorhood.

Perhaps this is what inspired me to recall Thunder Road this morning.

For it is this day, after I change mah motor oil - that I must

Perhaps a bit too premature, Gooey....

It's like Clyde - it won't die.

But your thoughtful sentiment is graciously appreciated.

I think nothing would be better than a photo of Gooey laying on her back;opening up a petcock valve.A big blown up photo displayed right by my coffin.

There would be a hood over my face because dead people look awful.
