Talk about overhyping…
The RA hype is stomped into dust by the Zenyatta hype, and it's not debatable.

That's because there are less reasons to hype her this yr, it's not even comparable to last year, if my memory is correct I was the only one that even dared to critique her record, and as silly as it sounded at the time to some, she was overhyped and yes I will include the same Sentiment to those that are premature in their declarations of Zenyatta being the greatest before Sat's race. Something I have never said BTW.

You're out of your mind. The Zenyatta hype is unlike anything I've seen in my lifetime.

Your memory needs some refreshing then. Ie. Post Woodward threads 2009. The ironic thing is if she had retired, she would be the one being mentioned alongside of some of the greats of the game right now.

Nope. Not nearly the same. She was never called the greatest horse ever by otherwise reasonable people, she never got a 60 Minutes special, etc. You're delusional as usual.

That's not true at all. I said it was lunacy to say RA was an all time great, or even a better filly than Rags to Riches.

Ok fair enough, then good on you. All I remember was taking it from all sides, for daring to question her record and Jess's actions of shutting her down with 4 months of racing left in the year.

He had every right to shut her down. She actually ran a taxing campaign.

Not in my eyes. I could never see RA beating Curlin, under any conditions other than her getting a 5 length lead going real slow.

Even then, I doubt it.

I think the reason RA looked as good as she did was the atrocious level of competition she faced.

It depends on the distance I think. At 12 furlongs, which we run like 4 of those a year, yeah Rags was better. She was better at 10 also. But I'd take RA at 9 furlongs. The RA of last year that is.

You should look at some of those fields Rags beat.

I think they would have had a great match-up if they battled going 1-1/16 or 1-1/8.

At a 1-1/4, I would give the advantage to R2R.

Those assertions are not just premature, but also patently absurd. Zenyatta can win on Saturday by double digit lengths, and still no reasonable person would refer to her as the greatest. Anyone who thinks she is better than Secretariat is suffering from dementia.
