I don't know about that. He won the Hopeful as a huge favorite and that was before Bid came on the scene. In the Travers, he was lone speed, and it was a sloppy track.

He was a tremendous horse. I just think Risen Star was better. I'm not sure Risen Star wasn't one of the better horses I have ever seen. But, he didn't run enough to really know. General Assembly danced a lot of dances and performed well in most of them.

I agree that Risen Star was superior to General Assembly, I was just trying to level the playing field a little. I do remember Leroy Jolley joking that he was in favor of year round racing at Saratoga for him.
