I realize most would consider this race riding and perfectly acceptable. I'm not exactly a Borel or RA fan, so, let's say the ending was pretty sweet all around. Borel is the typical bully when he has the advantage (as are most). He can dish it out and he should be able to take it. F u ck him. He looks real pretty when he styles but when it comes to crunch time he can't do what some of the great ones could: help their horse get to the wire. |

The bottom line is that this is a free country and people can say what they want. Losing money and drinking don't help folks act with class and dignity.
CB knows these truths and chose a public job that is open to scrutiny. He could have chosen another profession. Stop crying a river for him. </thread> |

And, for that matter, winning America's most prestigious race three out of four years, an unrivaled accomplishment in this country, oh - and being a half-decent guy, trumps some of your completely unsubstantiated generalities. |

Borel likes to style, 'race ride', and celebrate excessively. He got it stuck up his ass yesterday. Having lost plenty of times as a result of one of those rail skimming rides of his, and having to watch him with the fist pumping and kiss blowing, YES, I got some pleasure out of watching him get run down yesterday. Never wrote anything about Borel complaining. Just about how enjoyable it was to me. ![]() He's jut a PUNK. He doesn't add anything to a horse. He certainly can't finish, even up, with any of the better jocks in the country. He's real good at those cute moves, however. |

How can a thread like this inspire anything?
Tell me what you think about fans yelling and cursing him. Would you?Have you? Why?Why not? Did you come if you screamed at him? Why? Why not? Tell me..tell me right now. |

He's a big boy and can handle a few loudmouths. but imo opinion he caused the best horse in the race to lose. He never had to worry about catching Life At Ten, he was always going to catch that one. All he had to do to win the race was to not get cute and do something stupid, but he just couldn't resist. I would never ride the guy in a big race except maybe in the derby or at Churchill.

More likely than not the jockeys are snickering to themselves knowing the idiot screaming obscenities lost his money.

you're probably right. jocks are getting paid to be there, while bettors are paying to be there...yeah, i'm sure the riders feel abused.

What ground Rachel lost on the first turn didn't cost her the final furlong.
If a jock pushes a horse wide and wins, it's okay. If not the jock's a jerk. HELLO! Guess a lot of you weren't around when Cordero was riding. I'm sure Calvin can put up with the losers who bet their rent money. One day you're a star and the next day it gets ripped it off the door. Fickle fans. I'm one of Rachel's biggest fans, but I had cautious optimism about her winning this race.. I could analyze from now until doomsday, but the end result is she lost. I can deal with it and still think she is one of the greatest 3-year old fillies to ever grace the sport of racing. She carries her daddy's genes, and that includes never giving up even if she's running on heart alone.

There's just a slight difference. When Cordero was on the speed going 2 turns at SAR, you weren't passing him in the stretch. This is because he actually was able to help his horses get to the wire. He, thus, was able to 'race ride'; as he could back it up when it counted. Jocks that can't finish with octogenarians (like Borel) really should just stick to riding 'normally'. Saving ground should be their top priority as they really can't make up for any ground loss late. |
